Greg Murtagh

Greg Murtagh is a seasoned business executive located in Florida. Throughout his 31 years of experience, Murtagh has earned recognition as a skilled expert in digital media, customer packaged goods (CPG), retail marketing, and monetization strategy. He is broadly credited as being the first person to implement digital marketing techniques in retail and eCommerce. Murtagh has worked with many of the world’s largest retail entities, advising them in web publishing, a key driver of advertising revenue streams and overall eCommerce business.
Currently retired, Murtagh is the founder and former CEO of Triad Retail Media, a Florida-based media company established in 2004. Triad was the first company to deliver targeted digital brand advertising on retail eCommerce websites, a key moment in digital marketing’s evolution as a viable advertising sub-sector. This designation helped Triad gain inclusion in three different INC “Fastest Growing US Companies” lists. During his time with Triad, Murtagh worked alongside leading retail brands like Walmart, eBay, Toys R Us, CVS, Sam’s Club, and Dollar General. Murtagh sold the company for $300 million in 2016.
Prior to Triad, Greg Murtagh began his career in sales and marketing with Procter & Gamble (Vicks). He held various roles in sales, retail merchandising, brand management, and shopper marketing within the CPG industry before becoming immersed in the Internet in the mid-1990s. Murtagh leveraged his past professional experiences to become a pioneering figure in the early digital media space, launching one of the sector’s first digital marketing agencies (eMarketing, Inc.) in 1998. This helped set the stage for many enduring principles and techniques that continue to define digital marketing today.
Murtagh holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from The Cox School of Business Management at Southern Methodist University. He resides in St. Pete Beach, Florida.
