Greg Newkirk

Cincinnati, Ohio

Writer, curator of the fantastic & bizarre, professional monster chaser. Head of Video / Senior Writer at Roadtrippers, Editor-In-Chief at Week In Weird, one half of Planet Weird, and down for whatever.

I spend most of my time documenting weird stuff, weird people, and weird places. I've been screamed at by Bigfoot, orchestrated alien abductions, and drank questionable liquids with real vampires. I'm currently touring the country with a chest full of haunted, cursed, and otherwise bizarre artifacts.

My writing and video work is regularly featured both in print and online in publications like Yahoo! News, Gizmodo, Coast to Coast AM, and Nerdist, as well as in local and national news networks across the country.

In addition to researching, investigating, and writing about travel, strange subcultures, and the paranormal, I've acted as a consultant for numerous television productions, including projects that have aired on A&E, Destination America, Bio, and the Discovery Channel. Ironically enough, I've never appeared on television.

In 2011, I directed, shot, and edited the award-winning documentary The Bigfoot Hunter: Still Searching, a film that follows an ex-military monster hunter as he treks deep into the woods of southern New York in search of the Sasquatch.

I enjoy collecting vintage occult ephemera, a strong cup of coffee, and driving long stretches of dirt road. I once scored 19 out of 25 correct choices in a Zener card test. I don't like it when people yell at ghosts.

I'm a professional weirdo for hire, so don't hesitate to reach out if you've got a fun project that I might be able to help with.

Still curious? Come find me at Weird HQ.
