Gregory Maassen, Ph.D., is a development professional who has implemented long-term technical assistance programs in Armenia, Afghanistan, Russia, Iraq, Macedonia and Jordan. He was based in Aqaba, Jordan for three years where he frequently organized hiking trips to Petra, Wadi Rum and Rahma.
He is founder of Wandel Guides, an independent publisher of "Next Generation" hiking guides.
