My goal has always been, and will remain, to guide the students along the very best mathematics sequence for long term success. No two students are the same, and rarely do they require the same information.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach students ranging from 12 year old 7th grade student through 60+ year old college freshmen. I have taught courses in pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry to 7th and 8th grade students in Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX, and Mitchellville, MD, as well as developmental education courses at both St. Philip's College (SPC) and Northwest Vista College (NVC) in San Antonio.
Outside of the classroom I have worked as an instructional specialist in one tutoring lab (MathWorld at SPC) and managed another (the Math Advocacy Center at NVC). As the "Math Advocate for the Mathematics Department at NVC," or lab manager, I gained additional experience as an advisor to junior college students pursuing an Associate's degree.
I hope to take what I have learned through my own educational and teaching experiences and apply that knowledge towards a more balanced k-12 curriculum that will benefit students for years to come.
