Greg Vaut

A long career has brought Greg Vaut around the world to dozens of countries, where both businesses and nonprofit organizations have sought to develop and refine agricultural and agribusiness establishments. Greg Vaut began his international work as a volunteer for the Peace Corps, where he spent three years working to facilitate and improve fruit and vegetable production, as well as small animal husbandry practices and irrigated rice production, in Côte d’Ivoire.

Vaut returned to Africa several years later as a Country Director and Associate Director of the Peace Corps' Agriculture and Rural Development program in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in Rwanda. In this leadership position, Vaut led the creation of a groundbreaking national fish culture program, later recognized as one of the most effective, African, small farmer programs of the decade.

Following his second term with the Peace Corps, Greg Vaut found work providing international business consulting and advisement to a wide range of agricultural businesses and organizations, including Land O'Lakes and International Multifoods Corporation. He also served a three-year term as CEO of the Foundation for the Development of Polish Agriculture, where he promoted private-sector agriculture and agribusiness within Poland through program development and other initiatives.

Recently, Greg Vaut was a Senior Associate at Tetra Tech ARD in Burlington, Vermont, where he provided a number of services to the international agriculture and agribusiness development sector, including project design and management (as Senior Technical Adviser and as Chief of Party). Vaut has developed and managed a number of international agribusiness and agricultural projects, including efforts in Afghanistan, Serbia, Bosnia, Albania, and South Sudan, among other developing countries.

Greg Vaut was also a U.S. government-funded Senior Adviser to the Ministry of Agriculture in Kosovo, where he is tasked with helping develop the ministry and its various programs.
