I grew up in the small town of Culpeper, Virginia - middle child in a family of 5. I learned from an early age how to get along with all types of people but my curiosity about what makes people tick has never been satisfied. My journalism major taught me to never stop interviewing people. This has served me well in my graphic design career, and getting to know companies and the people that run them is a critical part of serving their communication and design needs. After 17 years as design director at Mary Baldwin College I launched Queen City Creative in Staunton, VA (the queen city of the Shenandoah). I have had the pleasure of working with and for so many amazing people in my career - many times following them as they move on to other industries. While I have handled all types of design projects, Queen City Creative now focuses on healthcare, higher ed, museums, foundations (and other non-profits), economic development and regional tourism with a healthy sprinkling of select restaurants and arts clients. I love what I do and I hope it shows in my work.
