Gretchen Birkheimer

Attorney and Writer in Redwood City, California

Fairness. Advocacy. Integrity. These aren't just words; they're the principles that guide my life and my law practice.

Although it's illegal for employers to discriminate against their workers because of their race, age, gender, pregnancy, national origin, religion, disability, or sexual orientation, or to allow employees to be sexually harassed, the truth is that it happens every day. I support and advocate for employees who have been discriminated or retaliated against, sexually harassed or assaulted at work, underpaid, or wrongfully terminated.

I also take on unemployment, assault, sexual assault, unfair business practices, whistleblower cases, slander, fraud, and contract cases of all kinds. I review and advise on employment contracts, severance negotiations, employee discipline, performance improvement plans, and employee terminations.

In my thirteen years of litigation experience, I have represented clients in state and federal courts, and before the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the California Labor Commissioner.
