Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Tre' Shawn gained a passion for social history and politics. Tre' Shawn moved to London, Englanf to pursue his love of history and diplomacy. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a minor in History.

In 2015 Tre' Shawn moved to the Netherlands we're he made his home with his husband and beaglier, Charlee Waffles. In 2020 Tre' Shawn earned his Master's Degree in Museology (Museum Studies) after completing his thesis: "On Roman Narratives in Dutch Museums."

Tre' Shawn previously served two terms as national Secertary for Democrats Abroad, Netherlands where he helped to increase overseas voter turn-out, lead internal development, and handled media inquiries. In 2021 he was elected Chair of the national organisation, where he is committed to continue to grow voter engagment of overseas Americans and advocate for their intrests in Washington, D.C. He is also a subsitute teacher at an International School in the Hague.

In his free time he can be found in a museum or with a good book and a glass of Chardonnay.
