Gugulethu is an entrepreneur passionate about using entrepreneurship to solve some of Africa’s problems. To date, she has successfully co-founded two startups: Ninety Nine Investments, a B2B trolley management startup in Namibia, and Thumeza, a supply chain fintech startup in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

At her exit from Ninety Investments in 2017, the startup had a startup of over 50 employees, netted Private Equity investment for growth and had an impressive client list ranging from Shoprite Checkers, Pick n Pay, Food Lovers Market to Woolworths.

She is currently the CEO of Thumeza, a fintech that uses a loan management platform to provide credit through early invoice settlement to small-scale transporters in Africa. It counts among its partners and clients the United Nations Development Programme, Lori Systems, MPost, and KTU Express.

Gugulethu through Thumeza, is an alumnus of the 2020 Class of the Google for Startups Africa Accelerator,2021 StartupbootcampAfritech alumni as well as one of the winners of the Southern Africa Fintech Challenge powered by the World Bank in 2023.

Furthermore, Gugulethu is an avid follower of continental policy and enthusiastic supporter of the implementation of the AfCFTA who has undergone the "Continental Bootcamp Training on the AfCFTA for Africa's Under 40 CEOs and Entrepreneurs" in Kigali, Rwanda in October 2022. This participation led her to moderate a panel on "Opportunities for Youth and Youth Owned SMEs under the AfCFTA" during the Youth Connekt 2022 edition which had the Secretary General of the AfCFTA Wamkele Mene and the Minister of Trade and Industry of Rwanda, Dr Jean Ngabatsinze as panellists.

In August 2023, Gugulethu was a moderator of a panel on "Unleashing African Youth; Accelerating Industrialisation through Youth-led Entrepreneurship and Exploring Untapped Opportunities" during the Inaugural AfCFTA Youth Symposium in Lusaka, Zambia.
