Leslie Gullahorn

A licensed physician specializing in orthopaedic treatment and surgery, Leslie Gullahorn, MD, currently directs the Orthopaedic Trauma Department at the not-for-profit Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona. Through the combined efforts of more than 2,000 employees, 300 doctors, and scores of volunteers, Yuma Regional strives to provide quality medical care that revolves around commitment, respect, and a highly-developed sense of teamwork. In 2009, Dr. Leslie Gullahorn began providing part-time trauma coverage at the hospital and accepted her current position two years later.

Excelling in both academics and athletics since her youth, Leslie Gullahorn, MD, was named captain of the Varsity Diving Team while studying mathematics at Northwestern University. Boasting an academic record that qualified her for the dean's list and membership in the honor society Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Gullahorn graduated from Northwestern in 1990 and matriculated at the University of Michigan (U-M) School of Medicine a year later. Her accomplishments while a graduate student at U-M include a post as the Treasurer of Phi Rho Sigma from 1992 to 1993. During her time at U-M, Dr. Gullahorn also successfully completed full marathons in both Chicago and New York, and her athletic pursuits have only become more adventuresome. Today, she devotes much of her free time to the sport of mountain climbing and has summited peaks as high as 23,000 feet. Since 2003, Leslie Gullahorn, MD, has also flown airplanes as a fully licensed private pilot.

While completing her orthopaedic residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, Leslie Gullahorn, MD, was honored with the Arizona Orthopaedic Society Research Award, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Research Award and the Howard P. Aidem Award for Excellence in Research. Her clinical findings have been published in a variety of reputable, peer-reviewed periodicals, such as the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics.
