Gurjot Marwah
Since 1996, Dr. Gurjot Marwah has been serving Tempe, Arizona, and the surrounding areas. For the past 10 years, she has been helping people with depression and other mental illnesses at her private practice called Healing Minds. In addition to her patients in Tempe, Dr. Gurjot Marwah provides care to the Arizona communities of Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix, Chandler, Paradise Valley, and Scottsdale. Dr. Marwah’s main method of treatment involves directing her patients toward lifestyle changes to help them improve their mental stability. When medication is necessary, she carefully monitors all prescriptions. Born and raised in India, Dr. Gurjot Marwah graduated from the H.M.V. College in Jalandhar, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Psychology and English Literature. She then attended the Government Medical College, where she received her Bachelor of Medicine-Bachelor of Surgery degree. After spending some time as a rotating intern and then as House Officer at Jalandhar’s Civil Hospital, Dr. Marwah moved to the United States, where she settled in Arizona. She spent several months as a rotating observer at Maricopa Medical Center and remained at the center to perform her residency in psychiatry. Dr. Marwah is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, as well as English. Gurjot Marwah, MD, has received certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, which is one of the standard qualifications required for international medical students to continue their U.S. education. She holds status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Marwah is also a member of the Indian Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Arizona Sikh Medical Association. To give further support to Phoenix, Tempe, and the surrounding communities, Dr. Gurjot Marwah provides funding to the area’s Youth at Risk program.
