Gurtegh Singh

Gurtegh Singh is a proud member of South Florida's Sikh community, and an active participant in several extracurricular and community-oriented projects. In 2009, Gurtegh Singh assisted with the Jago Miami conference, a national symposium on Sikhism. Before and during the conference, he was responsible for event planning, as well as advertising and public relations efforts. For two years, he also acted as the captain of Florida Bhangra, a group of performers specializing in Punjabi folk dancing. He organized performances at several community events, including weddings, and also arranged the group's choreography and music.

Today, Gurtegh Singh remains committed to community interests. He spends approximately 10 hours each week volunteering with Sikhcess, a local organization of Sikhs dedicated to enriching and transforming their community, largely by serving the local homeless population. He also contributes about 10 hours per week to the Sikh Society of Florida, an organization that assists in cleaning and serving food at the community's place of worship. Following the 2012 shooting rampage at a Sikh Gurdwara in Wisconsin, he was interviewed by television news stations in South Florida, and he provided commentary on the tragedy.

In May of 2012, Gurtegh Singh received his Bachelor's degree in Economics with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Miami. He plans to pursue a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Business Administration, focusing on international law and business. Gurtegh Singh is also currently developing an e-commerce site to supply packaging to retail clients.
