Mark Norwell

I am a 4 time national , 2 time World, and Wake Game champion in Wakeboarding. I coach and teach wakeboarding, Snow skiing, Snowboarding, Skateboarding and Gymnastics. I am the inventor, founder, and holder of a patent for GURU Trampboards a Wakeboard and Snowboard Training board for Trampoline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACMU0umV1Tg ..I am also an Artist who specializes in Acrylic paintings.

..I have over 30 years of coaching and teaching experience, I taught and operated my first ski school at age 15 at Nippersink Manor Resort in Southern Wisconsin. I continued my time there for three seasons. I was an accomplished trampolinist in high school, completing the first quadruple twisting single back flip in a sanctioned competition in the United States. I carried over my trampoline skills to the snow and water, and was a competitive freestyle snow skier and a 3 -event water skier starting at age 12.

In the late 70's, I began importing surfboards from California and used them behind the boat, eventually adding straps in order to perform early aerial maneuvers. I was also a sponsored skateboarder in the early 70's and 80’s, traveling through the Midwest giving demonstrations at skate park openings.

I began teaching and competing in wakeboarding at its inception, winning multiple National and world titles in the Maters and Veterans Divisions. I also went on to win Wake Games in 2012.

In 2005 I developed and patented a wakeboard and snowboard training device for trampoline, eventually naming the company GURU. As a successful world renowned sports product, GURU went on to win best new product at Surf Expo 2007 and best new international sports product at ISPO, Munich Germany 2007.

My combined expertise in all these areas in conjunction with my natural enthusiasm for these sports, have molded me into an exceptional coach and innovator. GURU Ware sports and GURU School of Wake will be the culmination of all my talents and skills. We will incorporate trampoline training along with private training in the water. We will be using state of the art equipment from HO/Hyperlite to bring every student the all-around experience.
