Gus Brackett

Gus Brackett was raised on a working cattle ranch in the wide open spaces of Southwestern Idaho and Northeastern Nevada. He was on the back of a horse by the age of five and sold his first steer at the age of ten. Gus was enrolled in a one-room school house where he first started writing stories about cowboys.
As a boy, Gus listened to tall tales about early cowboys from Grandpa Noy Brackett, Uncle Rolly Patrick and Truman Clark. Gus was fascinated by these stories and started writing the Badger Thurston series in 2010 to chronicle these tales.
Gus currently lives and works on the same ranch where he was raised. He is the Chairman of the Board of the one room school where he first wrote cowboy stories. He lives in a little ranch house with his wife Kimberly, four children, and a barn full of horses, steers, dogs, cats, and chickens. He is still writing so look for other books in this series.
