Serial Entrepreneur and Investor in Palo Alto, California
I'm a builder, entrepreneur, and investor. I've worked in the Silicon Valley for 15 years, lucky to have been a part of building and growing some of the most pioneering technologies over that time.
I worked with the U.S. national security community post 9/11 on a wide variety of R&D topics, culminating in DARPA's PAL Program - the largest machine learning program in the US government's history. That experience gave me way to build meaningful products that combined machine learning techniques and human teams of experts to solve problems in novel ways. Some of those products became the core IP for SRI International spinout companies, including Siri, Tempo AI, TrapIt, and Desti.
That passion around data and human augmentation led to co-founding two companies, Social Kinetics (personalized behavioral healthcare - acquired by RedBrick Health) and Proximal Labs (proactive, personalized search and recommendations - acquired by Jive Software). We took Jive public in 2011.
More recently, we've brought world-class data scientists, designers, engineers, and product geniuses in the world together to build The Data Guild, a collaborative product studio that creates high value data product companies in healthcare, energy, and global financial markets. The Guild works directly with enterprise customers and strategic partners to prototype, scale, and license those products. We also supply our own seed funding to the most promising Guild-built product companies.
I also invest in and am advisor to venture capital firms, technology companies, and teams solving critical global problems.
