Guy Gannaway

Throughout his career, Guy Gannaway, a career contractor, has proven himself in the construction industry. Other than building, however, Guy has become a notable coach in the Florida area, as well as a community supporter and overall professional.

Guy Gannaway, the director of operations for GSA Contracting, Inc., grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. His father was a well-known residential developer and builder in the ‘70s and moved to Florida in the ‘80s. Guy started off his career by working on his father’s construction sites in his teens, graduated from Missouri State in business and accounting, and eventually became a project manager in Florida for a different firm in 1981.

Guy started his own contracting firm in 1985 where he focused on the high-end residential market. He slowly expanded into commercial building projects and worked on medical practices, oil companies, restaurants, high-rise condos, gyms, car dealerships, and other types of properties until he teamed up with his father in 2009 to form GSA Contracting.

Guy Gannaway was able to certify GSA Contracting due to his licenses, which include a Class A Mechanical Contractor and Certified General Contractor. The foundation of GSA Contracting is a continuation of the family’s reputation as expert builders in both the residential and commercial sectors, though now the Gannaway name is known in Florida.

To adapt to shifting market conditions and client needs, Guy Gannaway focused on building cost-efficient, eco-friendly buildings. Green construction applies to the planning stages, job site safety, energy dependency, and other factors, all of which add up to LEED certifications and greener, more environmentally friendly buildings. Green buildings are the way of the future and worth the investment for clients, too, because they are then able to market green operations.

Guy Gannaway, a construction expert with a high attention to detail, likes to focus on one or two projects at the same time. Some builders become overwhelmed with projects and have to prioritize based on timelines and bids. GSA Contracting, however, seldom does “bid work” and focuses on value engineering, or working side by side with architects and designers to make buildings as cost-efficient as possible. Due to his mechanical background, Guy is able to look at complicated systems and find ways to complete projects under budget and within strict timelines.
