Research Interests
Guy is particularly passionate about creativity research: the psychology of creativity, group creativity and managing creativity. His work in these fields has broad applications. One of his PhD students is bridging the gap between current choreographic practices in the professional dance sector and theories of collaborative creativity, while another is researching the Chinese music industries.
In 2010 Guy worked as a visiting scholar at New York University where he studied artist management practices in the global economy. With four colleagues, he currently has a Macquarie University Research Development Grant to research career development strategies within the new music industries. He is also co-designing a unit entitled Entrepreneurship for the Master of Creative Media Degree that will be linked to the Creative Ecologies Lab, and to a business incubator that Guy is co-founding at Macquarie University.
