The Notion (notion.ai) team and I are on a mission to reimagine people’s email experience by building thoughtfully-applied intelligence that adapts to you.I love aspirational views of the future driven by the startup world. Reflecting my passion to help and learn from fellow startups, we are building a brand new co-working facility called SPACE (spacea2.com) in Ann Arbor, MI.Prior to Notion, I co-founded Nutshell (nutshell.com), a popular relationship management cloud platform focused on helping businesses grow.Back in 2004, I co-founded BitLeap - the world’s first Linux-based backup appliance, which automated offsite cloud storage and pioneered data de-duplication technology. After Barracuda Networks (barracuda.com) acquired Bitleap in 2008, I led the storage business unit. We grew the business to over $100 million in annual sales and placed first in backup appliance unit sales worldwide. Serving our incredible customers was a privilege and an incredible learning opportunity. While at Barracuda, I helped an “intrapreneurial” team build and launch a file sharing service called Copy (copy.com), which scaled to millions of users during its first year. This experience left me enamored with the idea of building something universally useful.Prior to 2004, I got my start in technology at Qwest Communications in Denver and a regional ISP in Pennsylvania. At the ISP, I focused on rolling out DSL broadband, directing marketing, and early anti-SPAM technology with a small team of brilliant engineers who became my closest business partners and friends. A two-time college dropout but ardent knowledge enthusiast, I believe in life-long learning and continually exploring a wide range of interests.
