I have worked as a Performance Analyst & Instructional Architect Consultant for Enterprise T&D, since 1982. I've planned, priced and sold over 250 consulting engagements since 1982, for over 80 clients, including over 45 Fortune 500 firms.

My work history includes being a partner/founder at Svenson & Wallace Inc. (1982-1997), CADDI Inc. (1997-2002), and EPPIC Inc. (2002-today). I've been in the ISD field since 1979.

My specialty, since 1982, has been Curriculum Architecture Design – CAD - and facilitating teams of handpicked Master Performers in determining the performance based performance and knowledge/skill needs, and then assessing what content is currently available, and then another facilitated meeting for the design of a modular, learning/ T&D Path - and an Individual Planning Guide.

I did my first CAD back in 1981 for Motorola's manufacturing supervisors - and then as a consultant in 1982 with Exxon Exploration USA for their Geologists and Geophysicists.

CAD is used for the development of performance-based Training Paths that reconciles the performance requirement needs with the existing content to identify gaps and overlaps of content for prioritization and funding. Until the Informal is replaced by Formal means the Informal can be delegated back to the performance unit to conduct Unstructured OJT.

The CAD approach attempts to create a holistic approach with a System of Instruction for both On-Boarding and On-Going Development – for Performance Competence Requirements. Formal and Less Formal and Informal "development" can be targeted and managed as appropriate to the Risks and Rewards of the situation and the ROI potential.

I have personally conducted 76 such CAD efforts since that first in 1982. The last effort concluded in December of 2018.

My former partners, staff and client staff have also produced hundreds and hundreds of additional CAD efforts.

I co-authored the first article published on Curriculum Architecture – in Training Magazine in September 1984 - and was the first to present nationally on the topic of CAD - Curriculum Architecture Design – at an NSPI Conference in April 1985.

I have been teaching others these ISD – Instructional Systems Design’s analysis and design methods for CAD – and at the course development level (MCD is my version of ADDIE) – since 1983.
