Gwena Walker

I am a passionate teacher and "undercover missionary" in my classroom. I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Purdue University, and later completed the Transition to Teaching program at Indiana Wesleyan University. Technically I am in my third year of classroom teaching, even though Indiana only recognizes one year. During my junior year of college I studied in Madrid, Spain, and traveled to Paris, France. I have also visited Toronto and Niagara Falls, Canada, and Mexico City. I can honestly say that, less than 3 years ago, I did not even know what a Power Point was. I've come a long way, baby.

My earthly sphere of influence has been transformed from my own two sons, who are grown now, to my students. On August 4, 2015, I stepped out in faith in obedience to God's calling on my life to "Get OUT of [my] comfort zone" and moved my whole life over 2 hours away. Since then, the blessings just keep coming. I am completely out of my comfort zone; He is completely in control; and this former control freak is loving it!
