Hi, we're the Schwartzes and we're on a six-month trip across the US and Canada as part of a research sabbatical our mom is conducting. Gwen is studying the complexities between energy progress and land preservation; Gary is managing all the trip details and working from the road; and Julia and Jordan are being "outside schooled"--our term for the kind of education everyone should have: taking long hikes in the wilderness, exploring cities and countrysides, reading, and together, learning more about what makes our world work and what puts it at risk.
