documentary Film Maker, Media Consultant, and IELTS Instructor

Stephen Gyasi Jnr.

Stephen Gyasi Jnr. is a Strategic Communications Consultant, journalist, documentary filmmaker, educator, and media strategist with over two decades of experience helping organisations strengthen visibility, reputation, and stakeholder engagement across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

He specialises in developing high-impact communication strategies that transform organisations from passive presence to strategic influence. His expertise spans strategic communications, public relations, executive media advisory, crisis communication, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, digital communication, and the development of narrative frameworks that align leadership, teams, and stakeholders around mission-critical goals. Rather than pursuing visibility for its own sake, Stephen builds clarity, credibility, and measurable institutional value.

His journalism career spans more than 15 years, beginning at Ghana's Graphic Communications Group before expanding to leading international publications, including New African Magazine and African Business Magazine (UK), The Africa Report (France), and Africawatch Magazine (USA). He also served as the founding editor of Fly Afrika Magazine, the official in-flight magazine of Africa World Airlines, where he combined aviation with storytelling to showcase African innovation, enterprise, and excellence to a continental audience.

Stephen has advised senior executives, institutions, and organisational leaders on media engagement, executive communication, and reputation management while facilitating structured media training for leadership teams seeking greater confidence, precision, and authority in public communication. His integrated approach combines strategic thinking with practical execution, enabling organisations to communicate consistently, manage crises effectively, and build lasting public trust.

A defining feature of his career is media systems development. Over the past decade, he has successfully established and structured fully functional media departments for nine Christian denominations, designing systems that integrate broadcast production, digital content management, creative services, and communication strategy. These structures continue to strengthen organisational efficiency while advancing their evangelistic and institutional mandates with professional excellence.

Stephen is equally recognised for his expertise in events strategy and execution. From concept development and programme design to resource optimisation, production management, implementation, and post-event evaluation, he delivers experiences distinguished by precision, fiscal discipline, operational excellence, and lasting audience impact. He also works as a documentary filmmaker, professional events anchor, and trusted ghostwriter for senior executives and thought leaders.

As an educator, Stephen holds an international English teaching licence from the TEFL Institute of Ireland and brings more than 20 years of teaching and tertiary-level lecturing experience. During his tenure at the Ghana campus of Mahatma Gandhi University, he taught Mass Communication, Global Comparative Media Systems, Business Communication, Editing, Enterprise Journalism, and Strategic Communication, combining academic scholarship with extensive industry practice to prepare the next generation of communication professionals.

Stephen is also the founder and host of PENSDOWN, a global video podcast dedicated to documenting the untold stories of journalists. Since its launch in November 2021, the platform has featured more than 160 journalists from five continents, creating one of the few growing archives dedicated to preserving the experiences, challenges, and evolution of the journalism profession.

His professional preparation includes studies at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Cambridge International College (UK), the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and the TEFL Institute of Ireland, reflecting a multidisciplinary foundation in journalism, communication, business, and education.

His client portfolio includes The Church of Pentecost (General Headquarters), Samsung Africa, InFocus PR, Eastern Hills Eco Park & Tour, Appiah-Nkyi Legal Consult, DAMAC Properties (Dubai), and Francis Fosu Group of Companies, among others.

Beyond consultancy, Stephen is passionate about mentoring emerging communication professionals and developing leaders who communicate with clarity, purpose, and influence. He is particularly skilled at translating complex ideas into compelling narratives that shape public perception, mobilise stakeholders, and support strategic decision-making. His work is driven by the conviction that effective communication is not simply about being heard—it is about creating understanding, inspiring confidence, and delivering lasting impact.
