STEPHEN GYASI JNR.
documentary Film Maker, Media Consultant, and IELTS Instructor
Stephen Gyasi Jnr. is a Strategic Communications Consultant with over two decades of experience strengthening visibility, reputation, and stakeholder engagement across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
He specialises in designing high-impact communications strategies that move organisations from passive presence to strategic influence. His work spans targeted PR and digital campaigns, executive media advisory, crisis communication strategy, and the development of narrative frameworks that align leadership, teams, and stakeholders around mission-critical goals. He does not pursue optics; he builds clarity, credibility, and measurable institutional value.
His over 15-year journalism journey began at Ghana’s Graphic Communications Group, before rising to contribute to some of the world’s leading international publications, including New African Magazine and African Business Magazine (both in UK), Africawatch Magazine (USA), and The Africa Report (France). As the founding editor of Fly Afrika Magazine, the in-flight publication for Africa World Airlines, Stephen blended aviation with storytelling, spotlighting African excellence thousands of feet above the ground.
He has, and continues to advise senior executives on media engagement and reputation management while facilitating structured media training for leadership teams seeking precision and authority in public communication. His integrated approach to communication management enhances brand competitiveness and sustains audience trust across platforms.
A defining dimension of his work lies in media systems development. Over the past decade, he has successfully established and structured fully functional media departments for nine Christian denominations, equipping them to manage end-to-end broadcast production, digital content ecosystems, and creative outputs that amplify their evangelistic mandate with professional excellence.
Events strategy and execution form another of his core strengths. From concept architecture and resource optimisation to implementation and post-event evaluation, he delivers experiences marked by precision, fiscal discipline, and enduring recall. He also works as a documentary filmmaker, professional events anchor, and trusted ghostwriter for high-level thought leadership content.
An accomplished educator, Stephen holds an international English teaching licence from the TEFL Institute of Ireland, and brings over 20 years of classroom and tertiary-level teaching experience. While lecturing at the Ghana campus of Mahatma Gandhi University, he trained emerging media professionals in mass communication, global comparative media, business communication, editing, enterprise journalism, and strategic communication disciplines.
He is the concept bearer of PENSDOWN, a global video podcast platform spotlighting the untold stories of journalists. Since its launch in November 2021, the platform has featured over 160 journalists across five continents, creating an honest and reflective archive of the profession’s triumphs, pressures, and evolving realities.
His client portfolio includes The Church of Pentecost (General Headquarters), Samsung Africa, InFocus PR, Eastern Hills Eco Park & Tour, Appiah-Nkyi Legal Consult, DAMAC Properties (Dubai), and Francis Fosu Group of Companies.
He is a product of Ghana Institute of Journalism, Cambridge International College (UK), and the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
Beyond consultancy, Stephen is committed to mentoring emerging communications professionals for relevance and enduring impact. He is particularly adept at translating complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives that mobilise action and influence decision-making at the highest levels.
