Get Your Rear In Gear OC

Register for the Orange County Get Your Rear in Gear 5K Run/Walk to help raise funds for colon cancer awareness efforts in the Orange County area. Event will be at the Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. Monies raised will stay in our community, helping with prevention, early detection and healthy living projects for this disease. The event includes refreshments, high quality shirts and marathon quality medals for age group winners. Get Your Rear in Gear provides a special opportunity to honor survivors and those lost to colon cancer in our community. This event is in memory of Tami Stewart, a 53 year old mother of 5, and longtime preschool coordianator at a large OC church. She did not get her recommended colonoscopy at age 50. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in February 2009. Endured 6 months of chemo only to be told the cancer had spread to her pelvic area. She was Stage 4 a year after being diagnosed, and passed away 9 months later. This disease is preventable and treatable if caught early. Help us raise awareness in OC and come participate.
