Since I can remember I have loved photographs. Sorting through shoeboxes of family photos would end up being a 1+ hours our activity. In my teen years I discovered I had a natural eye for it when I got my first digital camera (my mother could no longer tell me to stop waisting film when I was a child). Over several ears my love for photography has grown and grown and I have done more and more to learn from the knowledgeable and inspirational photographers around me and from the past. I even chose for Photography to be my college degree major, along with a creative writing minor. I hope to write children's books and novels in further years to come (but that's a different subject to discuss). I have been taught an abundance of digital content, and also Black & White Film which I have come to liking a lot more that I thought I would. I use if mainly for my more personal projects, and also family member portraits.

I find that photographs can do what no other art can, and that is to capture a moment in time. I love and appreciate just about all forms of art. I have grown up in a visual creative hand and performing arts family. Family and loved ones are so important, and photography is an art that can be used to remember those times we don't want to forget. I strive to do just that.

My style I find to be refreshing, delightful, fun, and when it calls for it, precious. Life is made of many moments, and I hope to capture some of them. I enjoy photographing people the most, but also venture around street photography when I feel brave, documentary when the right subject comes along, fine art when I want to get creative, still life when I want to slow down, and nature when I am in awe.

My arising business, H.R.Nelson Photography is mainly these subjects: couples, engagement, wedding, maturity & infants, children families, senior portraits, anyone's portraits, head-shots, and even birthdays if there's a big one that desires greater documentation.

Photography is my passion, and I hope that I will be able to continue it as my career and hobby. There's nothing else like it.
