Sanna From Karelia

Finland, Helsinki

A Karelian Finn living in Helsinki. Bachelor's degree in International Politics (IR). In the future I plan to get my Master's. In my studies I chose to put a special focus on the Israel-Palestine conflict. I have completed a summer course in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a part of my bachelor's studies and later on I did a six-month training in Israel. I have also completed a course by the Finnish Institute in the Middle East, taking place in the American University of Cairo and visited Jordan just by curiosity. Middle East is fascinating. My best memories are from my 6 visits to Israel. The most amazing places in the ME that I have visited so far are the Western Wall in Jerusalem and the Giza Pyramids followed by the Egyptian Museum.

I have been a high school exchange student in Brazil, fell in love with Latin America and since then visited Argentina and Mexico. In my youth I studied English in Australia. I have a serious love for traveling and I am waiting for my next trip already. I speak more or less fluently 5 languages. Studied the basics of a few more.

I'm happily married and a proud aunt for 3 nephews. The 4th one is on the way. I love Brazilian football and Finnish ice hockey. My favorite athletes are Teemu Selänne and Saku Koivu in ice hockey and Kaka and David Luiz in football. My favorite national hockey team is SaiPa, since it represents my home town. I have seen the Finnish national team of ice hockey playing. My next goal is to see the Brazilian national team of football playing on the field.

I follow politics, seriously and not seriously. I also tend to practise it whenever the opportunity knocks. If you ban me from talking about religion or politics, I won't have much to say. Except if we're talking about football or ice hockey.

I support human rights, tolerance and freedom of speech. I'm a Christian. I have close friends from different religions, cultures and nationalities. Diversity is a richness.

I laugh a lot, I get emotional a lot, and I love good satire. Sarcasm is a part of me, but I do it with a sense of humor, never wanting to offend anyone on purpose, though sometimes it happens because of difference in opinions.

In a nutshell; I have my opinions but I don't mind if you don't share them. Like I said, diversity is richness.
