Jess Bury
My hairstyling career began as a little girl, my mother tells me I would always be
doing someone's hair. Whether it was a friend or a family member I always
enjoyed it and told her that's what I wanted to do when I grew up.
As I enjoy doing hair so much, I got a job, naturally, at a Hair Salon down the
street from my residence. I began working there at age 17 as a shampoo girl,
now formally known as 'an assistant'. I worked there for the better part of 10
years and recently had a life changing decision to be made. "What am I
going to do for the rest of my life...?"
So...........
I made the big decision;
Currently I am pursuing my Small & Medium Enterprise Management Diploma at Algonquin College.
In order to follow my dreams and aspirations, as of 2007, I earned my hairstyling
Diploma from the College, acquired my hairstyling licence a couple months later
and have now branched out to open my very own Hair salon - Hair By Jess.
There will be many more life changing decisions to be made, and many bumps along the way...however, as a young aspiring entrepreneur, I am learning many transferrable skills to smooth those bumps into curves in life and throughout my career.
