Hala Boulos
Teacher, Mother, and Designer in Ontario, Canada
Hey there, I’m Hala. I was born in Egypt and moved to Canada in the year 2000. I had my teacher’s qualifications for Primary/Junior from York University in Toronto. I have completed my Intermediate English qualifications through Ottawa University and now looking to get my Senior degree through Queen’s University. I’m married to a great man who works for the Department of National Defence and we got to travel as a couple everywhere around and outside Canada. We have 3 kids (14, 12 and 9 years old) and a standard poodle dog. We live in Ottawa, the beautiful capital city. I work with the Catholic Elementary School Board. I teach both Language and Math to Grades 5 and 6. I have been teaching mostly the Junior division for the past 10 years. As a teacher, I missed working in my classroom over the past 3.5 months, however, I found great platforms that helped me reach out to my students on a daily basis during this Covid-19 crisis and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I found that implementing constant communication and a growth mindset helped calm their fears down and gave hope in the midst of darkness. I’m looking forward to learning great new things with this Senior English course and very happy to be here. I am a fan of education, reading, and photography. I’m also interested in dance and volunteering. You can view my photos with a click on the button above.
