hyper-aware, 360 degrees
Imagine a snowy white owl, perched atop the shoulder of the boy who lived. It appears noble and all-knowing. With a turn of its head it takes in 360 degrees of its surroundings. The owl. Always observing from another’s vantage point.
My writing style, and by extension, me, is an owl. I am not the person that sits down at a desk and draws an outline of an essay. I am not the person with a step by step process of what to do when writing. I sit as other people do these things. I watch them as if I were perched atop their shoulder.
I love to learn by observing. It is for this reason that molecular sciences make zero sense to me. As a writer, I use ideas and motifs I have observed from other writers. As a person, I use ideas and motifs I have observed from other people. This does not make me a copy-cat, this makes me an owl. I observe 360 degrees of my surroundings 100 percent of the time.
