Haley MacLeod
Bloomington, Indiana
Hello! My name is Haley MacLeod and I’m really excited about health technologies.
Currently, I am a PhD student in the health Informatics program at Indiana University working with Dr. Kay Connelly and Dr. Katie Siek in the ProHealth group. My research is on the potential role of technology in the lives of people with rare diseases. I am also interested in technologies for self-tracking and the Quantified Self community.
I have a Bachelor of Commerce with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Calgary in Alberta where I grew up. I was also a research assistant in the Interactions Lab, working with Dr. Tony Tang in the RICELab group.
I'm a strong believer in the value of diversity, particularly in STEM programs, and am involved in a number of women in computing initiatives. I also work closely with the Graduate Informatic Student Association (GISA), focusing primarily on graduate student health and wellness. I also enjoy the arts (film, dance, music, theatre) and being outdoors (skiing, camping, hiking, geocaching).
