Haley Wells

I am currently a student majoring in Communication and Media Arts with a minor in Journalism while attending Montclair State University. I am interested in writing feature stories on people as well as completing various media-focused tasks. I have written many articles for the campus newspaper, shot and edited video for news production, and assisted in a public relations campaign. My skills include feature writing, editing print and video, creating social media calendars/SWOT analyses, and InDesign formatting.

During my time at college, I was able to experiment with multiple media fields. I entered the campus newspaper as a staff writer before I took on the role of a copy editor. I held the position of Managing Editor for one semester and will be taking over as the Editor in Chief soon. I was also the Vice President of Social Media and Public Relations for an honor society on campus. For one semester, I was an Account Executive for a client for the campus public relations firm.

I hope to enter the media field after I graduate college. I mostly enjoy writing, particularly feature stories as well as press releases. My hobbies range from writing to traveling to studying the ocean in my free time. I hope to travel to at least 20 different countries and work with ocean-based media outlets in the future.
