Halit Acar graduated from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom in 2011 with a degree in Economics and Management. Since 2012, he has been serving as the General Manager of Universal Acarsan, coordinating and managing all operations of Acarsan Holding in Iraq.

During this period, he personally supervised the development, construction, infrastructure, technical equipment procurement, implementation, and commissioning processes of five separate educational and research hospitals located in Hilla, Karbala, Nasiriyah, Maysan, and Basra. These hospitals, with a total capacity of 3,000 beds and 400,000 m² of construction area, were successfully completed and put into operation under Acarsan Holding. He also managed similar processes for three oncology hospitals in Ramadi, Hilla, and Basra, and oversaw the restoration of the Ibni Sina Hospital in Baghdad.

In addition, he managed the projects of two general hospitals located in Dujail and Tuz Khurmatu with a total capacity of 272 beds and 60,000 m² of construction area, as well as the Kut Teaching and Research Hospital, which has 582 beds and 82,000 m² of construction area. Currently, he oversees the management of twelve healthcare complexes in total — nine completed and three under construction.

Between 2015 and 2020, alongside his duties at Universal Acarsan, Acar led the team that realized ICONOVA, one of the most prestigious real estate developments in Türkiye and the Middle East. Spanning 255,000 m², this luxury residential and retail complex features seven towers reaching heights of up to 162 meters. Acar coordinated all construction processes and managed the technical, mobilization, and material procurement operations.

Since 2020, he has also played an active role in managing Greeneco Geothermal and Solar Power Plant Projectsunder Acarsan Holding. As a Member of the Board of Directors of Acarsan Holding, he supervises the group’s investments across the construction, healthcare, and energy sectors.

Halit Acar was elected Chairman of the DEİK/Türkiye–Iraq Business Council at the DEİK Business Councils General Assembly held on January 15, 2022, following his earlier roles as Executive Board Member and Vice Chairman. He was also appointed Deputy Regional Coordinator Chairman for the Middle East and Gulf Region.

In recognition of his leadership, he received awards in the categories of “Media Visibility” during his first year and “Outstanding Performance” in his second year. On January 20, 2024, he was re-elected as Chairman of the Türkiye–Iraq Business Council and Deputy Regional Coordinator Chairman for the Middle East and Gulf Region, positions he continues to hold. That same year, he received another distinction — the “Networking Award.” On May 25, 2024, he was elected as a Member of the DEİK Board of Directors, a role he also actively maintains.

From 2017 to 2023, Acar served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Gaziantep Football Club. He currently sits on the boards of the Gaziantep Police Power Hockey Club and GAGEV (Gaziantep Development Foundation).
