Daria Hall is Executive Vice President at Fenton Communications, the first national agency founded exclusively to advance social impact. Based in Washington, D.C., she leads the firm’s Racial Justice & DEI Practice, where she partners with clients and colleagues to infuse authentic storytelling, compelling messaging, and strategic communications into efforts that advance racial justice and equity across sectors and issues. She also launched and chairs Fenton’s internal DEI Task Force, guiding initiatives that foster a more inclusive workplace culture.
With more than 25 years of experience, Daria is an award-winning communications leader recognized for her expertise in strategic communications, narrative development, and coalition-building. Her portfolio spans a wide range of racial justice, civil and voting rights, education, youth, and economic development initiatives. She has led campaigns and messaging work for organizations including Black Voters Matter, African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs, Stanford SPARQ, Hope Credit Union, Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Greenwood Initiative, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Houston Economic Growth Collaborative, Maryland’s ENOUGH Initiative, Illumen Capital, Center for Black Educator Development, Breakthrough Collaborative, The Slave Rebellion Re-enactment with artist Dread Scott, The A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, among others.
Daria was a lead author of Fenton’s inaugural People & Identity Style Guide and helped to launch the firm’s Marketing Committee. Earlier in her career, she served as Vice President of Communications and External Relations at America’s Promise Alliance, the nation’s largest network dedicated to improving outcomes for children and youth. There, she led an integrated communications team to elevate the voices of young people and mobilize partners across sectors.
Before returning to Washington, D.C., Daria spent 12 years in New York City, where she served as Vice President in the Legal & Corporate Practice at Rubenstein Associates, representing major law firms and professional service organizations. She also founded and chaired RUBEActs, the firm’s corporate social responsibility program, leading employee volunteer initiatives with local nonprofits such as City Harvest and New York Cares. Earlier, she held communications roles at Walek & Associates, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, and Burson-Marsteller, supporting both professional service and consumer clients.
Daria has shared her expertise as an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia and is a proud alumna of several social impact leadership programs, including Leadership Montgomery, the American Express Leadership Academy 2.0 at the Aspen Institute, the Council of Urban Professionals, and Coro Leadership New York. She serves or has served on the boards of the Education Writers Association, Partnership for Extraordinary Minds (xMinds), Friends of White Oak, and Mikva Challenge, where she currently chairs the D.C. Advisory Board.
A native Washingtonian, Daria is a proud graduate of D.C. Public Schools’ School Without Walls Senior High School. She holds a B.A. in English from Spelman College, an M.A. in Communications from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education, and an Executive M.P.A. from CUNY’s Baruch College. Most recently, she earned a Diversity Action Alliance Certificate in Inclusive Communication Leadership.
In her downtime, Daria enjoys traveling the world, spending time with family and friends, and exploring her roots as an amateur genealogist.
