Halley Ames

I'm currently a sophomore at UMass Amherst pursuing a degree in accounting. I've been extremely involved in developing my experience in accounting both on campus, in the classroom, and in jobs that I've had.

I've had an internship doing work in accounting and hope to work for a public accounting firm after graduation, as well as get my CPA.

Something that people find interesting is that I have a passion for Microsoft Excel. I love how the program works and all of the capabilities it has for organizing information, so I get excited about learning new ways to use it and teaching it to students as a teaching assistant for an Operations and Information Management class.

I love being able to apply business to travelling. I spent my winter break in Italy, exploring Italian businesses in Rome, Siena, Florence, and Milan. It was my first time in Europe, so it was an amazing new experience where I was able to learn a lot about a culture very different from my own.
