Michael Hall

Orlando, Florida

This Explorer, Questioner and Child of Science was born at 4:40 am on the morning of September 5, 1962. From my father Henry A. Hall Jr. (1923-2003), I acquired a burning desire to learn all about our world and a love of all things technical. From my mother Marlene T. Hall (1926-2009), I was taught to love life and laughter, her love of poetry, writing and the arts was vital to balance my perception of life. I thank God every day to have been blessed with parents of such high morals and I miss them terribly each passing day.

I have been most fortunate over the past 51 years to have traveled to distant lands, hiked dormant volcanos of the Hawaiian Islands, crossed peat bogs in the Scottish Highlands, swam in the turquoise blue waters of the Aegean Sea and ascended the slopes of the Acropolis in Athens to view the Parthenon. These experiences plus many, many more have greatly enriched my life and have taught me to be appreciative of all peoples and their customs.

In my professional life, I have enjoyed the creativity and sense of satisfaction over the last 33 years working in the field of design engineering. Whether designing precision lasers for the military or injection molded plastic parts for marine powerplants, the joy of taking an idea and seeing through to a solid physical object is what keeps me going day by day.

In my personal life, I have had my share of joy, and of tears with past loves and relationships. Since turning 50, I am starting to seek again for that one person in which I can share the rest of my life with. Hopefully with God's grace I will find her one day before I leave this wonderful world.

In conclusion I can honestly say that it has been an incredible ride. I have had many more ups than downs and I have tried to remain upbeat during those times of trial. I like to think of myself as a "glass is half full" kinda guy and try to look at the lighter side of life. My wish is that in the years ahead I will continue my quest for knowledge and experience and see this journey to a sweet and satisfying end.
