Halo's Haven

Ohio, United States

Halo's Haven has been a dream of ours for the past 2 years. As residents in Greene County, Ohio, and animal lovers, we feel the strong need for an animal sanctuary/no kill shelter, in our area. Surrounding areas have some type of similar facilities, and Greene County (to our knowledge) only has shelters for specific animals. The problem is, there are ALL types of animals that are abandon or in need of a new home for various reasons, and need a transition place that allows no specific time turnaround or euthanize due to un-adoptability.

We envision Halo's Haven to be a place that CAN take in animals and help find them homes, get care they need and allow them to have a place to stay until they find a forever home. If for whatever reason they can not find that place, they are able to stay at Halo's Haven to live their life to it's fullest.

We know this is going to cost a lot of money. And we really hope to make this dream of ours come into fruition. The amount we have listed as our goal, is really a ball park figure. If we are able to make Halo's Haven happen at a lower cost, all monies will go into keeping the animals we house in good health, fed, and happy!

We have, between the three of us, a lot of animal experience. From domesticated cats, dogs, birds, fish, and reptiles, to animals such as horses, wild birds, and squirrels. Brian, one of the members of Halo's Haven, graduated from Greene County Career Center with a certificate in Natural Resources Technology in 2011, a Proficiency Certificate in Oregon Saw Chain and Accessories Maintenance and Safety training course, and for a short time attended Hocking College for Wildlife and Forestry studies.

Phyllis and Brian would like to take some selected courses at Greene County Career center in Veterinary sciences in order to provide better services to our animals that may come in. These would be taken through the ed2Go online courses; Veterinary Assistant courses at $99.00 per person, per each course. This will be our first hurdle!

We will keep you updated on EVERYTHING that is going on. In the near future we will be making a facebook page as well as a website, and looking into getting our cause marked as a 501c organization.

Please consider donating to our cause. Check out our wish list for things that we would love to have donated if possible! Please note that we are not picky about the items on our list, prices are aproximate. We are very happy with
