I am an award-winning photojournalist and visual storyteller with a passion for street photography and using visual media to advance social causes—particularly in preserving cultural heritage and historical sites. My work blends documentary photography with community advocacy, aiming to highlight underrepresented stories and foster awareness through compelling visuals.

From August 2012 to March 2017, I worked as a Multimedia Journalism Officer at Aswat Masriya, a non-profit media initiative by the Thomson Reuters Foundation. In this role, I produced multimedia content covering Egypt’s social and cultural affairs and led the training and mentoring of interns and field contributors across the country.

I hold a Master’s degree in Communication and Development Studies from Ohio University (2023), where I focused on the intersection of media, cultural identity, and community empowerment. My capstone project explored how photo advocacy can inspire local action to preserve endangered Black heritage sites in the U.S., specifically through a virtual exhibition on the historic Mount Zion Baptist Church in Athens, Ohio.

Throughout my career, I have received multiple honors for photography, filmmaking, and writing. In 2016, I was awarded by UNESCO in the “Words of Tolerance” photo contest and recognized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations during their global forum in Baku, Azerbaijan.

I believe in the transformative power of images to connect people, challenge stereotypes, and preserve memory across borders.
