Hamilton dos Santos, 51, journalist and philosopher, is the director of Training & Development and Internal Communications at Grupo Abril. Before joining Abril, Hamilton was the editor of the Culture Supplement at the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, where he previously held the position of editor for Caderno 2 (the Arts & Leisure section of this newspaper). Prior to that, he was a reporter at Folha de S. Paulo. Hamilton has also written for numerous publications in Brazil, including the major weekly news magazine Veja, Playboy and VIP, the popular science magazine Superinteressante, the business newspaper Gazeta Mercantil, the woman’s magazine Marie Claire, the website Revista do Submarino, and the public television station TV Cultura.

Hamilton served as the director of Abril's Course in Journalism between 2005 and 2009. He is the author of three books: Lúcio Cardoso (Brasiliense, 1987), O Perigo da Hora (Scritta, 1992, edition and foreword) and the Enfim, grávidos (Best Seller Books, 2011). Recently, he was responsible for the conception and implementation of the Victor Civita Square in São Paulo, a cultural project focused on sustainability in a newly renovated square which offered several free activities to the public.

He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of São Paulo, where he also earned his Master’s Degree in Esthetics. In 2004, he was enrolled in the in-company executive business program conducted by the Business School, Fundação Dom Cabral. In 2012 he attended the Executive Program for Grwoing Companies at Stanford Graduate School of Business (July 15 – 26, 2012), in California, EUA. His future goal is to become HR VP or Head of a Business Unit.

Hamilton likes to think of himself as a person who makes a living by connecting people, especially, creative people.

He lives in São Paulo with his wife Margarete Victorio and his son João Pedro.
