My name is Hamraz Sadat Soozandehfar and I was born and raised in Shiraz, Iran. Since the elementary school, writing has been a comfortable way of communication for me to express my feelings and thoughts freely, which then made me participate in several writing competitions. I successfully received an official award from Shiraz municipality for writing a general article about the role of the municipality in development of the city and the quality of life of the citizens in 2012. Having said that, I graduated from high school and received my diploma certificate in 2016.

Travelling to many different countries was a very fascinating experience for me which represented various cultures, lifestyles, and ways of thinking. As a result, I decided to seek for more opportunities around the world and not just limit myself to the country that I was born, therefore, I continued my journey and came to Canada in 2018 to start my bachelor’s degree in biological science honored with international student entrance scholarship. As I am a fashion and photography enthusiast, I dedicate my spare time to fashion designs and photography. Luckily, I had the opportunity to grow in my fields of interest and I worked with some incredible local artists, brands, and photographers in Guelph. Recently I started playing tennis and it became one of my new favorite hobbies, especially during summer.

My favorite fields of medical science that I am mostly passionate about are public health and pharmacology. Because they involve the improvement of health and wellbeing in both individual and global scale which feels very rewarding. My volunteering experience at Saint Joseph Health Centre in Guelph and working as a pharmacy assistant motivated me even more to educate myself and help people in my community and all around the glob. My current career goal is to work as a pharmacist and continue my studies in the field of pharmacology and pharmaceutical industry.

Through my research I was introduced to the evolving and concerning issue of environmental pollution and the effects of microplastic on the biodiversity and human health. My family and I are currently working on a start up company called “Green Water Planet” which we focus on developing and producing the less costly and more effective membrane bioreactors (MBR) to remove microplastics from the industrial wastewater.
