Hello, my name is Hana Tomoum, and I am running to be VP Finance of the Political Science Students' Association.

About me 😊

• I am a U2 Honours Poli Sci major, minoring in Economics
• Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt
• Last year's Expense Coordinator for the PSSA

What I want to do 📢

Maximize AUS funding -For the 25/26 year, our team has built a strong financial foundation, having started with an allocation of 7000$, to ending the year with 25,000$ in operations. Building on that momentum, I will push to make the most out of every dollar we receive, ensuring our association has the resources it needs to keep expanding its reach and ambitions.

Increase sponsorship -This past year marked a turning point: our association secured its first-ever external in-kind sponsorships, bringing brands like Red Bull and Chef on Call directly to our students as free goodies. With the door now being open, I intend to push it wider and diversify our partners.

Make events cheaper -Beloved events like the Ottawa Trip and inter-association socials should be accessible to everyone. I will prioritize strategic budgeting to bring prices down and make sure no student has to sit one out.

Spend smarter, lose less -Oftentimes, student associations can end the year with a surplus, which goes back to the AUS. I aim to end next year with 0$ unspent. All the money we receive as the PSSA should be and will be given back to its paying student body.
