Hani Iskander

Sydney, Australia

I'm Hani. I live in Sydney.

By trade, I help Australian software founders sell their companies through Cube Capital, my M&A advisory firm. It's fast, high-stakes work, and I like it.

The rest of me pulls the other way. Since childhood, I've been drawn to Japan, its design, its food, and above all, its ancient gardens. I read the old wisdom traditions, Zen Buddhism most of all, and poets like Rumi. That sensibility runs through Studio Hani, my wall art brand. See. Feel. Be. Less is the point.

Before I sold companies for founders, I was one. I write more than I probably should, and I've been addicted to Mazda's rotary engine for decades, through a run of RX cars, including the RX-8 I've owned since new.

I try to live with intention, because nothing here is permanent. Shunryu Suzuki said it best. "Life is like stepping onto a boat which is about to sail out to sea and sink."
