Throughout my life I have unfortunately gravitated towards a path of self destruction, battling drug addiction, flirting with crime and entering drama fuelled relationships, which led me to deep, dark places filled with moments of hopelessness and despair. However, by the grace of God, this is not my life today.
I am a recovering addict, clean from heroin for 15 years, I have learnt to embrace life’s ups and downs with a passion. After an unmanageable life in full blown addiction, I became a mother, the greatest gift of all. My son is my life, although I have been fortunate to carry on living my own life too; I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, eating out, attending concerts and I won’t let approaching 40 stop me raving on the London club scene.
After working for many years in Camden Market, I made a career change to become a counsellor. Following extensive training, counselling is now my current occupation. I make time for my love of writing poetry and prose, as it has always graced my life. I write about relationships, life, addiction and anything else that sparks a thought and triggers a desire to put pen to paper.
My good friends tell me I am an inspiration to them and others and for that I am truly grateful. Likewise my inspiration comes from family and friends, people who stand up for what they believe in, fight injustice and genuinely care for the wellbeing of the human race. Life can throw you some fireworks at times causing you to lose your footing, distracting you and sending you down a different path. We all need supportive people in our lives to hold us up when times are hard.
