I am an outdoor adventure journalist, primarily concerned with the tension between society and Nature, and the effects of treating those spheres as separate worlds.

I believe outdoor sports and occupations are powerful vehicles through which to learn about the world.

Most recently, this investment in environmental studies/sociology brought me to Bicycling, where I edit and write stories about an activity that is the most useful way to travel sustainably through and appreciate the outdoors.
