I am the founding editor of a new international peer reviewed open access journal called Strengthening Health Systems. This journal is innovative because it aims to capture the totality of knowlege about health systems, regardless of whether the authors are academics, policy makers or implementers and, by doing so, to strengthen the scientific record for health systems interventions.
