For as long as I can remember, I have always been one that enjoys being active. As a young child, I was always awake at the crack of dawn pulling things out of my drawers, ready to get the day started. So, it was no surprise that this joy for activity translated into my pre-teen and teenage years. However instead of destroying my room, I chose to pick up a sport. Games involving contact were never really my thing, so my options were limited. Finally, I decided on tennis and fell in love with it. To me, nothing was more entertaining than hitting a small yellow ball across a court. Tennis requires lots of hard work but it was nothing I wasn't ready for...mostly just because I generally couldn't sit still. (Yes, I was tested for ADD and it came back negative. How? I have no idea.) As any sports story goes, the more I played the better I got and the more I loved it. When the time came around to start looking at colleges, I was amazed at the recruiting opportunities in front of me and decided to take full advantage. As it ends up, I committed to play tennis for the best school in the country, the University of Georgia, and have enjoyed representing the Bulldogs every second I'm out on that court. Looking back, I guess I need to thank my hyperactive three year old self for setting me up to find the game of a lifetime.
