Baton Rouge

I am a junior at Louisiana State University studying mass communication with a concentration in public relations. I’m pursuing minors in business, art history and visual communication. In the fall of 2014, I am studying abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton and Hove, England.

I’m currently an undergraduate research assistant in the Manship School of Mass Communication. In my time coding photos for studies about photojournalism, I’ve learned about elements of visual communication and the research process. I've worked on projects researching campaign photos from the 2012 presidential election and front page newspaper photos from the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination.

I hope to one day work with a nonprofit organization. I would especially love to work in an art museum. I’ll be happy in any position where I can serve the others and the community.

I love seeing and learning about art. I’m particularly interested in abstract and contemporary art, but the art history classes I’ve taken have expanded my appreciation to a wider variety of artistic periods and styles. I’ve recently become interested in Baton Rouge art. I consider myself more of a doodler than anything else.

I’m involved with The Refuge 7:37 at The Chapel on the Campus. I have joy, hope and purpose because Jesus Christ is in my life. My goal is to represent Him in everything I do.

I have a blog at hannahmclain.wordpress.com.
