I don't believe the music industry is doomed. It isn't the same carefree place where major labels sign the few lucky talented people and the masses go to their local record store to pay money to own and hold a album in whatever physical shape it may take. The music industry is just that, an industry and while the business model has changed it has become more diverse. With the use of music and sound design in advertisements, movies, video games, mobile applications and online sources it's everywhere and not slowing down. As members of the very lucky community of music makers and shapers we have the challenge of taking this fluid and ever-changing industry and making something of ourselves within it or changing the game as the opportunity arises.

I won't tell you that I love music because I feel that it speaks for itself. If we didn't love it we wouldn't be here testing ourselves against the ebbs and flows of a beautiful and terrifying industry that speaks to millions. Being apart of it is not only a dream but a real and tactile goal that I intend to work blood, sweat and tears to achieve. It's all worth it because in the end I'll be making people sing boldly alone in their cars, dance full tilt with their friends, or think thoughtfully while they just listen.
