After gaining a GCSE and an A Level in art I was certain that i wanted to carry it on in some form. As I had regularly vounteered in for the organisation Dimensions which specialises with adults with both learning and physical disabilities along with a school for children with learning and physical disabilities helping them produce artwork, I decided I wanted to find something that would allow me to connect the two.

After some research i found the course at the University of South Wales and knew it was a pathway that appealed instantly to me and allowed me to combine my passion for art and with the previous volunteer work which i had thoroughly enjoyed and pregressed in.

My artwork varies in medium, ranging from drawings in pencil and ink to making a full sized wedding dress out of paper. I feel confident enough in my art practice to participate in many different classes to expand my knowledge, one of my favourites is life drawing which I have been to several times and enjoyed my experiences there. Being a part of diferent classes has allowed me to develop skills of reflection on my own and others artwork, which is crucial when wanting to progress with art develop a well rounded outlook on the subject.

My volunteer work is something that i have always enjoyed, working in the primary school especially because it allowed me to interact with the children an produce stimulating activites to keep their attention. It also improved my knowledge of materials and experimenting with the children to develop different textures and workshops.
When working with adults I took part in designing and making sensory rooms for the houses which is one of the most intereseting and enjoyable activities that I've paticated in. I developed an interest in sensory play and sensory rooms are a fantastic way of allowing a client to explore their senses through touch, sound and vision.

I am currently in my first year at the University of South Wales and studying Creative and Therapeutic Arts.
