Hans Arora

Dr. Hans Arora, MD PhD is an Urology Resident Physician at the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute in Cleveland, OH. He is a graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He received his B.S. with Honors in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Hans' Ph.D. research involved the use of titanium dioxide nanoparticles for improved delivery of cancer chemotherapy drugs in drug-resistant ovarian cancer. His prior research experiences include internships at the National Institutes of Health, the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, and Pennsylvania State University. His research has been presented at numerous national and international conferences, including the American Urological Association North Central Section, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the Gordon Conference on Radiation Oncology. His work has been supported by the American Medical Association Foundation, the National Institutes of Health Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence, and the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS). He has mentored numerous medical and undergraduate students in the laboratory and served as a Fellow and Leadership Coach at the Northwestern University Center for Leadership.

Hans is an active participant in organized medicine at the local, state, and national levels. He continues to serve in numerous leadership roles within the American Medical Association including National Chair of the AMA Medical Student Section and the Board of Trustees of both the Illinois State Medical Society and Chicago Medical Society. He is a board member of the American Physician Scientists Association and sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Graduate Medical Education. Additionally, he has served on a number of committees both at Northwestern and at the Cleveland Clinic with an interest in undergraduate and graduate medical education. His continuing research interests span the breadth of urology, including urologic oncology, pediatric urology, and female & reconsstructive urology as well as the intersection between health care policy, medical education, and patient safety.
