Reca R. Washington: Being the change I wish to see...

Reca is a student, writer & humanitarian. Reca is pursuing her bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Advance Composition & Rhetoric at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Reca plans to teach ESL & write grants geared towards her future non-profit for marginalized youth & woman. Reca has given her time to many wonderful nonprofit-organizations and community leaders like: ReMix Recycling, LLC. a woman owned recycling company that trains previously incarcerated youth & adults, on sustainable education, curriculum & volunteer initiatives.

As a "non-traditional student," Reca has held various positions over the years. Each position has included coordinating & motivating others to work together. As the Program Coordinator at the University of Washington, Reca was able to employ her ability to remain calm & grounded under pressure during any task given to her. For instance, Campaign UW: Creating Futures, an eight year $2 billion university-wide campaign, allowed Reca to display all her talents, allowing her to become one of the most valuable, and key players within the campaign. Her leadership gave her team, colleagues & the entire university, a reason to sing Reca's praise.

In addition to her task at the University of Washington's Information School, Reca facilitated & managed three outstanding lecture series & six successful quarterly board meetings. Other titles Reca has held include: Marketing Assistant at Ponce Realty, and Booking Coordinator, for
Kaiser Permanente Georgia: Educational Theatre Programs.

At Ponce Realty Reca's keen research & ability to report valuable information to the real estate community aided in increasing the real estates agencies social media traffic by 75%. Furthermore, as the Booking Coordinator Reca successfully coordinated over 20 school & community events for Kaiser's Educational Theatre Programs, that were beneficial to children ranging from kindergarten to middle school.

All of these scenarios have helped Reca become an outstanding student, and thrive in fast-paced working environments. They have also taught Reca how to effectively interact, collaborate, and manage individuals in private, business, & University sectors. Reca's portfolio reveals the essential leadership skills she has developed, making her a fundamental team-member to have.
