“I want to be a better musician.” “I want to serve the Lord better on my worship team.” These are two comments I hear often from drummers I meet. I became fascinated with the drums in church. My parents made me prove my dedication to music by learning a quieter instrument, the piano. I studied piano for 8 years before beginning to learn the drumset. Hours and years of practice later, I now play for Filipino pop/rock group 'Shamrock' and the worship band 'gloryfall'. I am also a faculty member at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music where I designed the first drum degree program in the Philippines.
I have always loved teaching and helping musicians grow and meet their goals. This led me beyond the academe and private teaching to begin the "Better Drums In 60 Seconds" Youtube video series. 'gloryfall' also travels throughout the Philippines and Southeast Asia to help train and equip worship teams, and help them reach the next step in their musical and spiritual development in serving the church.
When you love music, it leads to exploring different musical avenues. Since graduating Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music, I have become an active songwriter and a recording engineer. In 2008, I began working as a recording, mixing and mastering engineer at TrueSound, and became an Avid Certified Instructor in 2013. I have been providing Pro Tools Certification in the Philippines since that time.
As Mark Twain said, "find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life." If I can do it, so can you, and I would love to help you along on your musical journey.
